I define a great gift as something a bit luxurious that the recipient wouldn’t typically buy for themselves but would love to receive.
Some people enjoy mountains of smaller (cheaper) gifts as opposed to a few really good ones. I’m more of a quality over quantity kind of woman. My list is like me: short but mighty. If we are on the same page, casually send this list to your significant other along with your size and color specifications so there is zero confusion and thank me later.
These are in no particular order, because I want them all.
Cashmere never goes out of style.
Cashmere is one of the most sought-after fibers in the world, especially for making scarves and sweaters. The material is softer, lighter, and can be up to three times more insulating than sheep wool.

Wearing cashmere feels good. It’s so soft it practically begs to be touched. Not to mention it will stand the test of time. My favorite place to find the very best cashmere is Brochu Walker. They have timeless styles but all with a certain je ne sais quoi. Think gorgeous draping, unique hem stitching, interesting neckline, etc. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
I love how delicately the fabric drapes on this faux wrap sweater. This color goes with everything from blue jeans to crisp ivory trousers. The simple elegance just exudes class. *le sigh*
The sweater below is a sexy deep v cashmere but is kept modest because of the layering. The built in layered lace cami is a beautiful spin on the basic sweater.
Gimme designer attire.
Hear me out. I’m not a logo freak but I feel like certain name brands earn their reputation. Blue & Cream is a one stop boutique that wonderfully curates designer pieces. I literally want everything in this store. It’s a boutique business, and in 2020, I want to support smalller businesses rather than throw more money at Nordstrom. Plus they’re still running their Cyber Monday Sale! Blue & Cream allow their shoppers to create wishlists (also perfect to send to the husband). Here’s what’s on my wishlist from them…
Canada Goose Parka because New England in the winter is coooooold. This style is classic and will stand the test of time.
Black Golden Goose sneakers are a cult classic. Love these kicks to match the parka. All black works every time.
When in doubt, give jewels. I know a guy.
If you’re going to go the jewelry route, classic is best. A great cocktail ring with an interesting setting is a perfect choice. This black beauty may look familiar because I’ve actually work this ring while sitting front row at New York Fashion Week.
I’ve had the honor of getting to know David Alan , the premiere custom fine jewelry atelier in New York City. He makes custom on-of-a-kind pieces for private clients however he has a small inventory of non-custom jewelry available for holiday purchasing (with immediate and free shipping)!
Another piece I am recommending to send to your S.O. is this stunner.
I’ve worn this work of art to fashion week as well and I swear, I think I looked at my hand more than I watched the shows. I literally could not take my eyes off of the David Alan Charlotte Ring. Here’s an iPhone pic I snapped while taking an uber to a show. This photo is for scale.
Here’s a quick video to see a close up of this diamond band sparkle, because it’s simply mesmerizing.
You can contact David Alan Jewelry on the atelier website or simply email the concierge at Helena@davidalanjewelry.com . Tell the Mindy sent you 🙂
It’s in the bag
You literally can not go wrong with a great handbag in a classic color. I’d love each of these styles in taupe, grey, black, white or beige mmmmmkaythanks.
I love this bag because the soft, quilted leather looks plush against the shiny hardware. The chain gives this purse an edginess to compliment the ladylike envelope style.
Same goes for this beaut.
I’ve been lusting over the Givenchy Antigona for years. The structure of this purse means it will hold its shape over time. The glossy black leather looks super slick and can be paired with anything from a tulle skirt to ripped jeans.
I love a boujee weekender duffel. This one is eco-friendly because it’s a revamped authentic Louis Vuitton. LV’s high quality luggage is what put it on the map. This company adds a bohemian twist on the classics by reinforcing the handles with braided leather and zipper pulls. They have a great inventory too.
Get specific!
I don’t know about you, but a thoughtful gift is the most meaningful. If the gift recipient is into any hobby or has special interests, get the best the industry has to offer.
If she likes winter sports, some snow essentials are a great idea. This Bogner ski coat would be incredible for any snow bunny. Droooool.
Or these Fendi skis to match. Style is a huge part of ski culture, might as well go big.
Is she into wines? Helen from the Wine Face podcast that I’m obsessed with curates these incredible gift boxes. Helen’s Wines is a gem box wine shop in the back of a wonderful Italian restaurant John & Vinny’s in California. She knows her stuff and makes the world and culture of wine more approachable. There’s also a wine subscription that she curates as well.
Helen’s opened with Jon & Vinny’s in 2015. Inside you will find a focus on naturally-driven and organically farmed labels, small production vineyards, wine makers with integrity, lower intervention elevage & dynamic thoughtful wines. The shop is a curation of allocated items, limited releases, favorite gems & new finds in a constant rotation.
