You guys know how much I love hair extensions. I want a lion’s mane honestly. Getting extensions is an investment. I like the micro beaded kind because they do not require heat or chemicals and can be reused multiple times (when your hair grows out, they just get moved back up). If you have ever worn any type of extension (clip-on, bonded, hand tied, micro beaded, I’ve tried them all) then you know that you have to take care of them well to keep your hair looking fresh. Hair Extensions BFF sent me some of their products to test out and report back to you guys.
You know I only blog about products I’ve tried and LOVE. I have tried everything out there, and not many products make the cut to end up here.
Their products are designed specifically for hair extensions to give all types the care they need for longevity. This will save you so much time, effort and money in the long run. For example, my micro beaded hair has to get moved up every two to two and a half months roughly. The extensions last about three rounds of moving the hair up before I need to replace the hair. Toward the last round, the hair starts to get dry and tangles really easily.
My tape in extensions were harder to maintain because I wasn’t using the right conditioner and the tape was becoming gooey (ew!). I wish I found this brand like two years ago. I would have saved so much money and stress.
I love a good hair mask to restore life to dull hair, but it can be really tricky with extensions. So many treatment masks are super oily which can cause the extensions to slide right off (yikessss). Not this one! Here’s an excerpt from the brand’s website explaining their Hairapeutix mask:
How It Works: Our treatment is a 100% natural formula designed to work in the same way sebum (your natural hair oil) works on your natural hair. Sebum is the oil produced naturally from the scalp which keeps hair soft and silky. Use the treatment BEFORE shampooing to allow it to soak into the hair and revitalise, condition and restore tired hair extensions… basically giving you back your dream hair before it got ruined!

I recommend using a wide tooth comb like this one while the mask sits on your hair. It will detangle super easily. Fewer tangles mean longer lasting extension life.
Finish off with the shampoo and conditioner smell amazing (like sweet almond). They’re both perfect for hair extensions and obviously your own hair. I love that it’s cruelty free too.
Even when the hair is freshly installed, using the wrong products can leave it tangled. Using the wrong brush or comb can tug the extensions out. This detangling brush gently removes knots and smooths hair while adding shine (where have you been all my life?!).
