I love festival style. Give me boho glam and rocker chic alllllll day. One of my favorite brands sent me a few items from their latest NYX Glitter Goals line to play with. I used to hear glitter makeup and immediately think it’s unrealistic to wear in real life unless you’re 13. I was wrong. I am wearing glitter liner at work as I type this.
The trick to making glitter wearable is using it very sparingly. In fact, a little sparkle really lights up the eyes. Keep the rest of the look neutral to balance it out and not look overdone.
Glitter liner on the eyes is my favorite way to apply sparkle. If you know me, I always wear black liquid liner. It’s kind of a trademark at this point, ya know? Today I applied a very thin line immediately above my black line and was so shocked at how wearable it really is. Below, I’m wearing the shade “Crystal Ball” which is a champagne color. If I were headed to Coachella, I’d amp it up a little and opt for a blue or purple.
I also made a fun discovery that this liner is perfect for temporary glitter tattoos! Hear me out. A simple arrow or heart on the wrist is delicate but pretty. I used the golden shade “Chamomile” to make a honeycomb pattern and the greyish bluish shade “Stage Trooper” to make a bee on my forearm.
The glitter shadow quads are SO beautiful. I have two palettes.
This blue and silver toned set is called “Glacier” and the formula is creamy. I used my fingers to apply the swatches. I would recommend using your finger to apply onto the eyelids rather than a brush because it will go on smoother. How gorgeous would these colors look on light eyes?! Even super dark eyes would pop with the bright colors. You could use a liner brush to create a softer more diffused eye.
The next quad is called “Galactica” and it is comprised of more warm tones. And it’s very much my speed. Never met a warm eye palette I didn’t love.
I swiped some onto the very center of my eyelid but would look nice as an unexpected pop in the tear duct.
