I love entertaining! Especially more casual events like football on Sundays. Over the years, I’ve learned a few tips and tricks to make hosting less stressful.
Step One
Research recipes. Pinterest and all recipes.com are my go-to sources. I always look for recipes that I can make ahead of time so I am not racing around my kitchen like a psycho that day. When typing in my search, I always include the phrase “make ahead”, “5 ingredient”, “no-bake”, “slow cooker” etc. The more specific your search phrase, the better your results will be. I try to make crowd pleasers such as nachos, sliders or pulled pork -think bar food. Click here to steal some of my favorite recipes. Follow my pinterest board too! If people offer to bring a dish, let them!
Step Two
Get your ingredients. Now since this is a lazy girl’s guide, I am advising you to use what you have on hand, then you don’t have to venture out to the store or spend money. If you’re like me, you do your grocery shopping on the weekends. I hate going food shopping because I can’t stand driving my cart around a crowded store *raise your hand if you think shopping cart blinkers should be a thing? #GroceryStoreRoadRage.
I can not recommend Peapod Delivers enough! I order my groceries online here. You can even order a couple of party platters for delivery, don’t cook a thing and be done with it! Order some drinks, paper plates and call it a day #LazyGirlWin. Super convenient, efficient and stress free. —pssst if you’re a new customer they are running a promotion for $20 off plus free delivery if you enter code 60DAYSFREE at checkout.
here are some recipes from their website that allow you to add ingredients to your cart in one click! That’s lazy girl heaven.

Step 3
Set up a drink station. Nobody needs fancy schmancy at a football party. Beer & wine is fine. If guests offer to bring anything, tell them ice or the drink of their choice. If you want to have a signature cocktail, google search a big batch drink recipe and you should be good. I always make boozy pudding shots too. Here’s the recipe for those. They’re a no fail. Kick back and enjoy the big game!
