If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I spent my weekend at New York Fashion Week. I went to a few shows, a few events and lots of great restaurants. On Sunday afternoon, I ventured out from Hotel 50 Bowery to Pier 59 Studios for the Romeo Hunte Spring/Summer 2019 runway show. In many runway shows the clothes are super high fashion and honestly not something I’d consider wearing day to day. Think dress-up. This show was unlike the others I’ve seen. Romeo Hunte kept the collection edgy and high fashion yet managed to make it seem wearable. The show was straight fire.
His inspiration and theme was the exploration of the concept of intersections between “Street and Luxe as well as Now and New Wave”. His concept translated so well that it was palpable.
There was a definite focus on sporty outerwear with an edge.
