I love experimenting with makeup but some days I need a no-fail, go to look. Over the years I’ve tried out so many products. Many of them didn’t live up to their claims which can be both disappointing and annoying. Who has time or money to afford those kind of mistakes? Luckily, I have come across some products that exceeded my expectations. Many companies send me their latest and greatest to try out, but very few end up here on the blog. I don’t love every product sent my way. Some of the products in this post I’ve received as a PR sample, but would easily be willing to pay for because they’re that good. I have created this look a few weeks ago and it has become a staple. Natural, clean and polished.
Here is a breakdown of the products I’ve used to create this look and LOVE! I’ve included links to each also.
Face
I love adding a few drops of H2O+ Beauty’s Illuminating Booster to my moisturizer. It preps my skin and gives me a bright complexion.
Stila Stay-All-Day liquid foundation/concealer in Honey 08. This foundation has a natural finish and is full coverage somehow without looking like you’re wearing any foundation at all. It comes with a concealer that matches perfectly and is built into the lid. It’s amazing. The stick version of this (which also comes with concealer in the lid) is equally wonderful it just depends on your formula preference.
For bronzer, I dusted Tarte’s Park Avenue Princess along my hairline and in the hollows of my cheeks. It’s waterproof so I can hit the gym and know that my face isn’t going to melt off. Attractive lol!
Surratt Beauty makes incredible blush. I used the lightest hand when applying just below the apples of my cheeks. I love the subtle peachy pink color of Angelique. It gives life to my face.
Eyes
The Stay All Day liquid liner by Stila is insanely precise. I can make my liner as thick or thin as I want. I use it in black.
I am not wearing false lashes in the above photo. It’s Huge Extreme mascara also by Stila in the color black. I don’t know if it’s the formula, the wand or a combination of the two, but I am in love with it. It layers really well too. I need that quality in my mascara because if I’m not wearing falsies, best believe I’m coating the mascara on 🙂
I also used a few colors from the Eyes are the Windows to the SOUL palette also by Stila.
Brows
I used Dip Brow pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills in soft brown. I don’t recommend this product to makeup newbies though. If you’re not a beauty buff, I’d suggest using a micro pencil like the Brow Wiz or this one by NYX. If you’re into powders, then BH Brow Trio is inexpensive (under $5!) but fabulous (and comes with a pomade as well).
Lips
The lips are very nude in this look. I used Tarte color splash lipstick in Skinny Dip then lined with Kevyn Aucoin’s lip pencil in medium.
