I’m not exactly a “travel light” kind of girl. I am impulsive, indecisive, and need options when I am away from home. I also hate schlepping a 3 ton bag around town with me. What can I say? I’m an enigma. I’ve put together a list of must-haves for traveling that give me the luxuries of being home when I’m living out of a suitcase. Here are my travel essentials.
Mini Steamer
Conair was supposed to send me a blow dryer to review a few months ago and accidentally sent the GS38 garment steamer by mistake. I haven’t blow dried my hair in over six months so I asked if I could keep the steamer instead of the dryer. It’s small and has a turbo button on it for stubborn wrinkles. I took it to NYFW and it was a life saver!! Just put your clothes on a hanger, and the G38 heats up instantly. No ironing board necessary. It takes seconds to smooth even the most stubborn fabric like linen and won’t melt chiffon like your iron might.
Small Skin Care
I never neglect my skin. Travel tends to do a number on my complexion (especially planes and/or city trips). Huge tubs of creams and serums take up precious luggage real estate. Luckily my favorite products come in vacation-friendly sizes so I don’t have to compromise. The H2O Plus Must Have Mini Favorites 6 Piece Set Includes: Elements Keep It Fresh Face Cleanser, Infinity+ Renewing Youth Serum, Waterbright Color Correcting Mask, Oasis Hydrating Treatment, Sea Salt Body Wash, Specialty Care Hand & Nail Cream. Bring some or all and you’ll still have room in your duffel for that extra pair of boots.
Hello Hydration
At one of the shows I went to during NYFW, I got these electrolyte vitamin tablets in my goodie bag. They boast more electrolytes than Gatorade, and less sugar than Pedialyte. They’re all natural and contain all 5 critical electrolytes and 9 boosting vitamins. Again, travel tends to dehydrate my skin so these babies help keep my skin plump. No sugar, sweeteners, or caffeine. In other words -minimal hangover when taken before hotel cocktail hour.
Slip Ons
Slip on sneakers are a must. For kicking around the hotel or running out to grab coffee, these Vans are a no-fail. Slip ons mean you don’t have to pack socks and they work in warm or cool weather. They’re less than $50 too.
Multitask
Get yourself a sleek zip clutch that can double as your makeup bag and night time purse. This one from JLew Bags is a fave of mine because it’s SO durable and well made yet still looks luxe.
