Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I know I certainly did! Yesterday I was at the Francesca Liberatore show during New York Fashion Week. It was not my first fashion week experience, but it was by far my best yet!
I arrived to the infamous Skylight Clarkson venue at 8:15. I was 45 minutes early which is equivalent to a snowstorm in July. I don’t even know how that happened lol!
I would have been happy seeing the street style alone in front of this place. The energy and excitement were palpable.
Since there were no signs as to which show was where (the venue is HUGE and houses multiple shows at once), I hopped in line and hoped for the best. I spotted Steve Aoiki which was pretty cool. After waiting for a few minutes, the man in front of me asked a worker if we were in line for the Francesca Liberatore show and he was redirected, so I followed him. Once my ticket was scanned, I was told I had a “standing” ticket. A standing ticket meant I did not have a seat. I was okay with that because I know that the seats (especially the first three rows) are reserved for the major players in the fashion world. I was just happy to be there!
After waiting in a crowded sequin-clad hallway of fashionistas, the line began to move. When I walked into the space, the music was thumping and people were walking in every direction. I was so pumped! A girl with a clipboard told me to stand off to the side. Then another guy with a clipboard started telling people to fill the open seats. Well he didn’t have to tell me twice! I bee lined for the closest open spot.
I could not believe that I was sitting in the second row at New York Fashion Week! You guys I was DYING!!!
The lights dimmed, the music thumped and my heart raced. The collection was flooded with lace, floral embellishment, pops of chartreuse and burgundy and velvet footwear.
