Hello love! It’s been such a hectic month around here. Since I’m on February break (I’m a teacher for those of you just discovered FSL), I have decided to unwind and detox a little. More sleep, less sugar, more water, less processed foods, that kind of thing. Gisela from Mogi Mousse sent over some of her organic vegan skincare for me to try out. If you follow along on my Instagram story, then you’ve already seen some of the unboxing.
I’m usually a little weary about trying out skincare since I have pretty sensitive skin, but this line is all plant based (no chemicals at all), so I took the plunge. This was just the month to do it! Before I butcher the fascinating story behind the brand, click here to read it from their site. Here’s an excerpt about the products:
MOGI MOUSSE® is a handcrafted 100% plant powered and raw skincare line, especially beneficial for individuals with normal to dry and extra dry, sensitive and/or maturing skin. MOGI MOUSSE® assists in treating many skin conditions. We do not use any animal products, parabens, phthalates, fillers, gluten, dyes or any kind of other synthetics or chemicals. MOGI MOUSSE® products are for individuals, like creator Gisela Alvarez, who have been left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the lack of results from overpriced and chemically filled skin care products. Our skincare is for anyone and everyone who would like their skin to feel and look healthy with the security of knowing that the products you are applying to your face and body are completely natural, organic, vegan and cruelty-free. MOGI MOUSSE® is made in small batches to guarantee the highest quality skincare.
When I unboxed these, I almost didn’t even want to use them because I didn’t want to disturb the gorgeous packaging. I love the minimalist, rustic spa vibe.
All of the jars are glass. They feel sturdy and look higher quality than cheap plastic jars. The toner came wrapped in white muslin fabric and wrapped in twine. It seriously took me days before I allowed myself to open it.
Usually toner strips my skin of all moisture but this actually left my face feeling soft, not squeaky.
I love me a good mask. This was the first powdered mask I’ve ever tried so I was excited for it! I mixed the powder with the little scoop that came in the box with warm water. Once it hardened up, I rinsed the mask off and the first thing I noticed was the smoothness of my skin. The fine lines in my forehead seemed less visible and my pores were almost not detectable. This may be my favorite product from the brand.
Next up is the sugar scrub. You guys, this stuff is phenomenal too. The sugar and the essential oils made my skin so smooth! I used it on my legs before shaving and definitely got a much closer shave than usual.
The last product I reviewed, is the body butter. Ugh, I love body butters. Regular creams and lotions are too runny and my skin feels dry about an hour after I put it on. This formula is so thick yet somehow not greasy. The scent is refreshing and citrus-y. My husband said it reminded him of fruit loops. I put this on after the shower before bed and my skin is hydrated when I wake up.

I’ve been using organic products for a while now. Most skin care that I use is with Manuka Honey. I’m trying to add your suggestion in my collection because I love organic stuff.

Definitely check it out. I am in love with it.
