If you follow me on Instagram (@FindingSilverLinings) and/or SnapChat (@FSLsnap) then you have seen a Cliff’s Notes version of our amazing stay-cation in New York City this past weekend. The Archer Hotel is a cool boutique lodging in the heart of Mid-town. The Archer Hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway for Mr. FSL & I to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our very first date.
Where & How Much?
The rooms are NYC affordable (starting at $200 in low season) and the location is EVERYTHING!!! It is in the Garment District (hello cute shops everywhere!) a few blocks from Bryant Park, Grand Central and Times Square. Tons of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, yoga studios, salons, you name it, you can walk to it. It’s a perfect place for a girl’s trip or a romantic getaway. Click here for more about the neighborhood.
Check In
We got into the city about 45 minutes before check-in and were prepared to wait until our room was available. When I went to ask the front desk if we could leave our luggage while we wait for our room, the attendant told me it was ready for us right then. Smoothest check-in ever. The lobby is urban-luxe and a little quirky. And gorgeous. Exposed brick, modern chandeliers & a few chesterfields? Um, yes please.
The Digs
We were high on the fact that we were going to have a full night of uninterrupted sleep, so Archer could have thrown us in a closet with a cot and I would have been okay with it. I was not ready for the comfort level of this king sized bed. You guys know I’m a sucker for tufting and nail head trim, so this headboard was a yes (and that oversized artwork?!). I felt so spoiled when I found out that the hotel used Frette linens!
Bathroom
The little extras are what sets this hotel’s hospitality apart from other hotels I’ve stayed at. Frette robes for the duration of our stay were a luxurious touch. Minimalist toiletries and even makeup remover wipes (which were much appreciated) were provided in the bathroom. Peep the sweet beveled subway tiles.
I was feeling pampered putting on my makeup in my spa robe (without a toddler weaving through my legs). What is it about an all white bathroom that instantly makes me starry eyed?
Nice Extras
We had these adorable his & hers slippers in the room and were told to take them home with us (also free)! I mean, how cute are these?!
(Free) waters and handmade caramels, turn-down service with a box of chocolate peppermint covered pretzels (from a local shop), champagne, and a $20 Joker card (hotel credit at any of the bars/restaurants or valet). Every room has a Nespresso station fully stocked with creamer, pods and white cups -another nice touch.
Unique Hotel Feature
Um, also, I did not hate our nightlight. We had an Empire view room, but this photo was snapped at the rooftop bar Spyglass. I felt like I could have reached out and touched the Empire State Building. How iconic is this view?!
If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Manhattan that’s affordable, super-hospitable and in a prime location, I highly recommend The Archer Hotel.
