“Twenty-five years ago, I started my brand with a simple idea: I wanted women to be who they are. Beauty in the ‘80s wasn’t about authenticity – it was more like putting on a mask. Overpowering colors, heavy makeup looks and cookie-cutter models were the norm. I wanted to give women other options,” – Bobbi Brown
Bobbi Brown is a household name when it comes to makeup, and for a very good reason. She started her cosmetics company by putting out 10 lipsticks that flatter every skin tone. A stark contrast to the crazy makeup of the 80’s. I’d say it was a gutsy move to go in the opposite direction of the trend but it is now her claim to fame. Bobbi is know for a classic polished look. Never overpowering, clean yet feminine.
For the brand’s 25th anniversary, they have re-launched the original 10 in a luxury deep-red velvet lined boxed set. The lipsticks are a large travel size (so a tiny bit smaller than the regular size). I’m not gonna lie guys, I feel glam just owning it. The set would be a phenomenal gift for the makeup lover. I seriously could throw out all of my lipsticks and keep only these and be totally fine with that. Click here to shop.
Here they are in natural light.
And with a flash.
The set came with an insert explaining the versatility of each shade: My vision when I created these lipsticks was simple. An edited collection of creamy-matte lipsticks in shades that compliment any skin tone. The shades which run the spectrum from pale to deep blackberry to classic red are all brown based- the secret behind their incredible wearability. Use each shade alone or mix and blend shades to create your own custom color. Because one lipstick is never enough. -Bobbi Brown
