Hello beautiful readers! As a school teacher in the month of March, I have been daydreaming about our family’s upcoming vacation to sunny Florida in a few weeks. (no days off in March means kids and teachers are pretty stir crazy). Today I am sharing some style inspo for looking put together and staying comfy while traveling as well as a few links so you can shop the looks.
Audrina Partidge looks laid back, comfy cool. A lightweight hat is great to wear on a plane because you can roll out of bed, throw your hair in a low bun and off you go. I also like the idea of a hat on a plane because I love a hat on a beach, but don’t like the idea of it getting smushed and misshapen from being stuffed in my overfilled bags. This is an easy way to transport it with you. I just bought this one from Francesca’s this past weekend.
I know some people are thinking “Why would I care about anything but comfort on a plane”. Just because you are traveling, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a little pride in your appearance. You will still have to interact with actual people in public. I’m not saying you should wear a prom gown or stilettos. Just don’t pull a Kris Jenner, mmkay?
If you want to go the suuuuper comfy route, no worries. Swap the patterned tracksuit for the very in style jogger. Not to be confused with regular old sweat pants, these should be more fitted and taper toward the ankle. To keep the look from looking sloppy, take note from Sincerely Jules by opting for neutral color pants and top. Add a soft leather moto to give it some edge. These joggers are perfect for travel and are less than $40.
Another travel essential is an oversized scarf that can double as a blanket. Airplanes are notoriously chilly, and I don’t know about you, but I skeeve airline blankets. This time of year, you can probably find a ton on sale since it’s not winter anymore, so that’s a bonus. I just bought this one (in photo below) from ASOS for $28 and it’s the softest, coziest big scarf, yet is somehow lightweight. I want one in every color. Click here to get one.
I’m the girl that passes out two seconds after take off. Seriously. Wake me when we land. Sometimes, the guy across the aisle wants his window shade open and the unobstructed sun comes beaming in. Over-sized sunglasses are a must. Especially if you’re catching a red eye. This pair from converse are the perfect makeshift blackout shades and are only $18.
Nothing more annoying than having to have to fumble around in a security line trying to untie your shoes off to put them on a conveyor belt. Opt for simple flats like the photo below to keep that line moving. Plus they’re comfortable to walk swiftly through the airport. I like these from UGG because they make the comfiest shoes period. At $70, they’re affordable too.
If women are allowed to bring a purse and a carry on, you best believe I’m bringing a large tote to fit more of my crap. I’m a chronic over-packer. A minimalist neutral tote is the perfect travel “purse”. This tote will carry it all while looking sleek and pulled together. Nobody has to know that it’s filled with all 75 of your lipsticks, full size toiletries and maybe two boxes of samoas (ya know, just in case). This tote is reversible and is available in lots of different color choices. The photo below is the cognac with black inside. It comes with a matching wristlet. So fancy shmancy. Get it here for $48.
