Okay. I know some of you may be thinking that sequins are strictly for little girls and RuPaul. Au contraire. Sparkle and sequins are all the rage this spring. I want to share with you guys how to pull this trend off without looking like PJ Sparkles. The key is keep the color of the sequins neutral and everything else minimal. Sometimes just a hint of sparkle is unexpected and can liven up an outfit.

Get it: A soft sweater and warm tights make this skirt wearable while the weather is still chilly. Forever 21 comes through with a sequin mini here for less than $25. Boom.

Get it: Pair these gold sequin leggings with a comfy tee and a ponytail for a pretty yet low-key look.

Get it: How freaking hot is Vanessa Hudgens in this one piece?! Get a more wearable option here for just $45! This jumpsuit makes my heart happy. How perfect is this for a summer date night?!

Get it: Tucked into high waist trousers, a sparkly top is nothing short of chic. Get this look for $15 from H&M.

Get it: An all black sequin pair of leggings like these paired with a half tucked in graphic tee and a black fitted blazer would be so chic. Keep it looking edgy with some spiky booties. These are under $35.

Get it: Take notes from fashionista Kelly Ripa. A casual tucked in button-down shirt paired with a sequin pencil skirt is hot. This one from Tracy Reese even has a bit of a mermaid vibe happening.

Get it: Sequins make this basic sleeveless shell top no-so-basic. This look is clean and feminine. $29 for this silver sequin shell top sounds pretty good to me.

Get it: Sparkle can even be dressed down when done correctly. An embellished sweatshirt like this one ) can be cute and casual. Pair with some ripped jeans and call it a day.

Get it: Lauren Hutton circo 1960’s in Vogue Magazine. All over sequins don’t have to be too flashy if the sequins are matte like these. This geometric black and white print “city lights”dress from Nasty Gal is sooo modern Great Gatsby.

Get it: If I had a fairy godmother, I’d ask her to bring me this stretch-crepe jacket from Maison Margiela. The raw edge and satin finish of the sequins keeps this from being too frilly. I’d wear it with jeans, black stilettos and messy beachy waves to toughen it up.

Get it: These shorts on a summer date are a no fail. I’d top with a denim jacket and wear black strappy sandals. At $12.99, how can I say no?!
Get it: Sometimes a sparkly headband is as good if not better than jewelry. I heart this one from Anthropologie.
