*Irresistible Me gave me these clip-in hair extensions to review. Other than the hair, I wasn’t compensated for this post. All opinions and gratuitous obnoxious selfies are my own*
About a month ago, I cut all of my hair off into the latest trendy cut the long bob aka “the lob”. My long hair was fried, over-processed, and basically hay. I was way over due for a good chop. But, if you know me, my long hair is my security blanket trademark . I am a long haired girl and always have been (except that one time in college), so this cut was major. I felt like it was just hanging and I couldn’t really style it. I needed a change, so I took the plunge. And here I am, a month later in typical Mindy fashion regretting the cut. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 5 minute blow dry and cute styles I can do with it, but I miss my old mop.
I considered paying a ton for bonded extensions (when the hair is fused onto your hair and lasts a few months). Then I thought that it was a bit wasteful and some days I want shorter hair. As an alternative, I was researching clip in hair extensions and thought they’d be fun to test out. I was right. I love them!
It is my first time ever using clip in hair extensions, so I was super excited when the box arrived at my house!
Even the box is pretty! I like that it’s sturdy and not clunky. I’m using the box to store the hair in.
I was happy to see that there is a small sample weft of hair to test out before you open the package to make for a simple return if needed. The sample hair to see if the length and color is right for you.
Since my hair is darker at the roots and blond at the ends, I was worried that these would not look natural. I was very torn between the medium brown and the light brown color choices. I thought I’d have to dye them to match my multi colored hair (which I guess is common for people to do, but sounded an inconvenience to me because I’m lazy). The company even threw in some extra clips in case any broke. Here’s what the sample piece looked like:
I went with the light brown color from their “Silky touch” line. The hair is 100% human (rather than synthetic) and are Remy (which refers to the highest quality). These extensions are the heaviest weight available 200 g (meaning more hair per weft). There were lots of wefts. Like 10 varying in size! There was actually more hair than I could fit on my head so I didn’t use all of them at once. I chose the 18″ length.
Here are some before and after shots.
Here’s a close up. The color is multidimensional. Great match for my hair.
They were a little tricky to heat style but not too much trouble. I clipped them in and curled with this wand to give natural beachy waves.
The wefts have a silicone strip below the clips so they stay in place. I guess it’s the same idea as the silicone band on strapless bras so they stay up. I have to say, the extensions didn’t budge all day. They were a bit heavy, but I’d imagine that’s due to me choosing the heaviest/thickest weight.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend these for anyone looking for length and volume. I’ll be posting pictures on my Instagram of some fun I had playing around with styles.

You know how much I adore you Mindy and you know I am partial to shorter hair, not short hair like mine, but shorter hair in general. There comes a time in your life when you realize that you are older and long hair just doesn’t cut it, at least with me anyway, not that you are of that age. With that being said I totally disagree with your extensions, I love love love love your hair shorter, it shows more of your beautiful beautiful face. I think the extensions are great for a change but just like everything that is fake they don’t look real. I know you know me so well and you also know how brutally honest I am but I’m loving your shorter hair!!! Besides you can be bald and still look beautiful. Your favorite mother-in-law, I hope! 🙁

Hahah! This post was to review a product which I thought was great quality. I’d wear these for a fun night out or if I wanted an immediate change. It was my first time testing them out, so I still need some practice putting them in correctly so that they blend. Thanks for the love!

Indeed, hair extensions are the best solutions when you are not blessed with long, thick hair. Thanks for sharing!
