Unbutton the top button of your skinny jeans, friends. This post is in celebration of the end of bikini season and the beginning of football (and tailgating) season. When I was pregnant with Max, I craved vinegar (salad dressing, pickles, ketchup). With Dante, all I wanted was bacon. Lots and lots of bacon. Through looking to concoct various pregnancy induced recipes, I noticed that bacon is quite trendy now (how lucky for me). Aside from the traditional bacon and eggs or bacon cheeseburger, I discovered bacon can be used in a number of ways.
- Bacon cups. As in edible serve ware. Pick anything to full up that little bowl and mangia baby!
2. Ummmm, bacon inside of a pancake? Yes. The answer should always be yes. Dunk these puppies into warm syrup.
3. Bacon wrapped cinnamon rolls. Woah. Why didn’t I think of this?!
4. The uber recipe blog Gimme Some Oven went the classic route with spaghetti carbonara. Um, carbs and bacon? Where do I sign up?
5. The blog The Domestic Rebel sounds like my spirit animal, you guys. Anyone that creates recipes like maple caramel bacon crack, sounds like my kind of person.
6. Half Baked Harvest whipped up sweet & savory bacon and cheese puffed pastry straws. Oh wow, these look ridic.
7. How about in a cocktail? Buzzfeed suggested using bacon wrapped asparagus to garnish a bloody mary!
And if that wasn’t enough for you, click here to see Food Network’s roundup of 50 things to make with bacon. Pretty sure this post is giving me cravings all over again.
