I love me some home made art. Nothing turns me to mush like Max’s artwork. He is two, so finger painting is his jam. It’s one of my favorite bonding experiences with him. I had a framed canvas stashed away for when inspiration struck.
Max wanted to paint the other day and I broke out the canvas. I gave him a few different shades of blue to work with so the final project would match his room. After it dried, I grabbed a white Sharpie paint pen and wrote a fun phrase.
Super easy and completely customizable. I love the way it turned out. The key to making the colors look great together is choosing shades that are alike (think purple with pink, green with blue, etc) so that way when they mix, the colors don’t turn muddy. Colors that are next to each other on the color wheel will have the best blending impact.
Max and I will be making another when the new baby comes to match his or her room. I want to make it part of a gallery wall. I love the idea of big brother making a gift for the new baby.
Super easy and fun to make. Plus I think the phrase is perfect for a little boy’s bedroom. Have you ever created your own artwork to be hung in your house?

Love this! I want to do it for my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. What type of paint did you use?

Rose Art finger paint. Nothing fancy at all. I used Sharpie paint pen on top for the writing.
