If you follow me on Instagram (follow by clicking here @FindingSilverLinings), then you already know about our news! Yup, I’ve got a bun in the oven! Our second baby is due April 4th, 2015. We are so excited and I’m so happy to share it with you guys.
Italian pregnancy announcement: Yup, I’m preggo
No really though, lol, this was my actual Instagram pregnancy announcement:
Because I’m eating for two haha 😛
How I’m feeling: So far, the first trimester was great! No morning sickness at all (which is a relief because I was so so sick when I was pregnant with Max). I put on more weight thus far compared to last pregnancy, but I was 8lbs lighter to start off this time around so I’m hoping it will all even out. I’ve been able to escape to the gym every Saturday and Sunday, so I am getting some exercise in, plus the weather is still really nice in CT so taking Max for walks is great too. My sciatica has started making an appearance in the past couple of weeks. I have tried to combat it by taking pre-natal yoga.
It’s always nice to get some VIP love. A big thanks to Babies R Us for the sweet parking space and yummy preggie pop drops.
How I found out: I was eating a salad from my favorite spot and it tasted like cigarette ashes. Pregnancy makes the body do weird things. Taste buds especially! I knew something was up when this happened. I took a test immediately. I had a test laying around because I actually thought I was pregnant the month before so I bought a multipack. Mr. FSL was mowing the lawn at the time, so I called Max into the bathroom and told him he was going to be a big brother. I called my husband inside and Max handed him the positive test 🙂
Is Cray Cray back?: Thankfully no (click here to hear about her). I feel like I’m just regular old Mindy.
Cravings and food aversions: This baby wants fat. I craved fried chicken for about two months straight. I want bacon on everything and butter is my new friend. I craved vinegar with Max, so lots of salads and healthy stuff. Not this time. I am hoping to crave lettuce or something healthy-ish soon, until then, send cookies. Or tubs of Nutella.
I’ve been taking weekly bump pics like I did when I was pregnant with Max. I am not doing weekly bump updates, but maybe monthly. Here’s weeks 9-12…
What’s different from last time around: Besides the fat kid cravings and no morning sickness, it’s going by quicker and thankfully easier. My sciatica is worse this time. I am so preoccupied with a toddler running around, I don’t have time to think only pregnant thoughts lol! I’m in grad school too so I feel a little overwhelmed and distracted.
I am now in week 15 and the bump is starting to pop a little.
I must have been in denial. The size 0’s aren’t fitting so well these days… oops.
I tried to pull my pants on by pulling the belt loops. Pants can only take so much I guess lol!
Here’s our latest ultrasound pic of our newest nugget…
We are Team Green again. We will not find out the gender of the baby until the day we meet him or her face to face.
Soooo that’s what’s up with me. Any preggos out there? What week are you in? How are you feeling? Did you rip your pants too?

Congrats!! Funny, you and I were pregnant “together” the last time around and I remember reading your updates. I am also pregnant again, but due December 4th. My first turns 2 on Halloween so I’m already starting to freak out a little bit!
This pregnancy has been SO different. With my first little guy I felt pretty great for most of the pregnancy, this time around I was sick sick sick until week 16 and now I’m just uncomfortable! I am a petite person and I always am jealous of really tall women who have lots of space for their babies to grow! My cravings have basically been for rotisserie chicken and eggs. So random and weird but I’m going with it! Congrats again!
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
We are on the same baby schedule! Congrats mama! Chicken and eggs isn’t too weird. You’re lucky. Protein packed. I hope you are feeling better soon!!! I’m 5’2″ with world’s shortest torso. I feel ya, I am always jealous of tall girls too. They have way more room and the weight doesn’t seem to pack on as quickly you know?

Congratulations!! We are 29 weeks in and counting 🙂 Craving bread soooo bad but have to watch my carbs intake and no sweets cause of gestational diabetes 🙁 Other than that – feeling fabulous!
Not going to find out the sex of the baby? Is it going to be hard for you guys or you’ve done it before? I would be so impatient!
Again, Congratulations! 🙂
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Congratulations to you! Ugh not gestational diabetes! I’m so sorry! Are there any low carb options? We didn’t find out with baby #1 so we aren’t going to this time. It really was the best surprise ever 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Yana!

I can’t get your blog to see in my feedly. So sad!
CONGRATS on baby #2. You kill me with the cravings. And the not finding out the sex. How does one do that???? 😛
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Ugggghh! How do I fix it so it can be seen in the feed? And, the cravings are no joke. Bring on the fried chicken!
