I feel like tassels are everywhere lately. Especially on Etsy. While I love to give props where props are due, I was inspired by the office of Pearls & Pastries blog.
I saw, I loved, I needed to make. And I want the Press For Champagne button. And I need it to work. Gawd how great would that be?!
I would be a happier girl having happy, colorful tassels strung across my walls.
Here’s what I did to make my own:
Grab a few sheets of tissue paper in the prettiest colors you can get your paws on, a pair of scissors, hot glue gun, and some string.
Fold tissue in half lengthwise. then in half width-wise. Is width-wise a word? Oh well, it is now.
Make thin cuts from the open part to the folded part. Remember to stop cutting with about 2 inches to the fold. Like this…
Unfold it once. Like this…
Then cut it down the middle.
Unfold completely so it looks like this…
Roll each up so it looks like this…
Twist the middle part like this…
Make a loop and add a dot of hot glue to seal it together.
Excuse my crustaceous fingers. I got gel polish and I need a fill. And a bottle of hand lotion apparently.
Repeat for all of your tissue paper. String these cuties on and enjoy the girly eye candy!
How cute would this be in a nursery or as a backdrop for photos?! Or party garland!
I got the Party! Party! app by A Beautiful Mess and am obsessed. You can make .Gif files from photos. I highly recommend 🙂
