This past Friday was the first of our monthly craft nights! Since having a baby, working in an elementary school, and getting caught up in day to day chores, socialization with adults is at an all time low for me (and apparently I’m not the only one). Some friends and I wanted to have a standing appointment to get together with no kids. We didn’t just want to go to a bar or restaurant, ever the multitaskers, we wanted to be productive. Craft night was it. We can share ideas for upcoming projects on our group Pinterest board (check that out here for some fun crafty ideas). Here’s everyone in the zone 😛
Each of us brought a snack for the group and the supplies for the craft. So obviously, I used the fact that it was the first craft night as an excuse to make apple cider sangria.
Yes that was as good as it sounds. I will post the recipe soon 🙂
And Samoa girl scout cookie dip. I had to bring this to work to get it out of my house. It was In. Sane. That recipe will be posted soon also.
Yes really.
Oh right, the craft. I got chocolate coconut tunnel vision for a minute. We made these no sew fringe totes and they all turned out so cute!!
All this goodness has flooded my spirit with a happy to be alive vibe. I’ve been so stressed lately, that I started to overlook things that I am so grateful for. Simple things.
I love that I live in a suburban neighborhood that’s just on the outskirts of a multicultural city. Yesterday I noticed the beauty in my commute home…
And randomly flipping through my phone to see a photo of my gorgeous happy niece. Look at this face!
I’ve been feeling so stressed out with trying to balance work, grad school, chores, blogging, being a good wife & mom that I needed to remember how fortunate I am. Lucky to have the opportunity to educate myself. Lucky to have a job that I truly love. I had “Back to School Night” last week and I’m so grateful that I was able to bring Max. He made his first painting. My heart!
What are you grateful for today?

It’s always good to stop and think about what we’re grateful for.. I have a lot to be grateful for… most of all my family…each and every one…especially Max.
