One of the perks that our home came with was the back deck that spans the length of the house.
I couldn’t help myself.
There are so many nice dining sets out there. However, the patio sets that were in our price range looked really cheap and probably weren’t built to last. We waited until August rolled around to make the purchase. Home Depot had a 40% off outdoor furniture sale.
There wasn’t much of a selection but we saw one nice set. I’m not a huge fan of wicker, but this set was wicker done the right way. Dark and with a modern shape. And it came with the chair cushions AND pillows for each chair as an added bonus. It was still a tad out of our price range even on sale. The original price was around $1,200 so it was still going to be over $800 with taxes. We haggled a bit since it was the floor model and had a sticker mark on the table (that we can scrub off), we walked away with our new set for $525 🙂 Score.
I am way too excited about our hydrangea tree also (I had no idea that there was even such a thing as a tree version). I clipped some flower bunches, threw them in mason jar mugs, added a cheapo Ikea runner and called it a day.
Needless to say we spend more time outside. Max has been zipping around in his walker on the back deck in his sunblock shirt and hat *overprotective new mom in action* while mom & dad faceplant into a bowl of this quick tomato basil pasta.
Life is good.

Do you like to eat outside or are you a dining in kind of guy or gal? Do you haggle with the Home Depot crew?

What an awesome find! I love being outside but here in Oklahoma, someone just turned up the heat. We’re hitting the 100’s after an EXTREMELY mild summer. Once it cools a bit, I’m excited to start working on the functionality of my backyard. We have the yellow version of the car walker. It’s so cute. When I put Beckett in it he grabs the steering wheel and turns it every which way. One day on accident, I also discovered that the play area pops off and has a food tray underneath. I guess I was too excited putting it together that I never read how it all works. Max is looking so big and handsome!
