Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Crackers

Mr. FSL like many, is a creature of habit when it comes to food.  Specifically snack food.  More specifically peanut butter crackers.  He ONLY likes these:

While food shopping two weeks ago, I whizzed up and down the aisles crossing things off of my grocery list.  Why was I jogging around the supermarket? Because a certain 9 month old who shall remain nameless was practicing his new trick.  This new shenanigan is basically a  flying back bend.  He LOVES to do this lately.  Luckily, I’m a germaphobe and Max was buckled in a giant fabric shopping cart cover and didn’t fling himself into the mountain of food in the back of the carriage.  I have no clue why the shopping cart was a catalyst for his new trademark move, but it seemed like a splendid idea to him.  He laughs hysterically as he launches himself back while I have mini-heart attacks.   Great fun.

During this mother-son spectacle, I grabbed these by mistake.

Cut to hours later when I was told I bought the wrong ones.  I had to ask what was the difference.  He said these were saltier.  I felt like Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada when she gets schooled by Meryl Streep about her blue sweater when she can’t see the difference in two belts.

Long story short, I was making dessert.  It was chocolate covered strawberries, and it was my attempt at a healthy-ish sweet treat.  I had leftover melted chocolate and we don’t waste that kind of stuff in this house. I was scrounging around in the cabinet for something to dunk into the chocolate before it hardens (and I’m too lazy to re-melt it) and dug out the poor-misfit-too-salty-bought-by-accident-because-of-flying-back-bends PB crackers.  Light bulb moment.

This is too easy.  I won’t insult your intelligence or ability to use a microwave to melt chocolate chips.  Just make this.
