So, yyyyyyyyyyeah… Hobby Lobby opened in my town. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I mean, clearly I’m ecstatic that the craft superstore is a ten minute drive away. But, I’m just saying it could be a not so great thing. Confession: since the opening I have over-drafted my checking account.

Oops.
Yeah, that bad.
I mean, I am 30 years old now.*cringe* I should be able to manage my weekly spending budget. But that store is just too much for this big kid to handle.
True story: three weeks ago on one of my Hobby Lobby binges, happily skipped home with pink zebra duct tape and antlers. That’s just between us though mmmkay? I’ve developed a “What happens at Hobby Lobby, stays at Hobby Lobby” mantra since the antler incident.
Among the embarrassing rubble of random art supplies, yarn, horseshoes & paint, there is something I publicly admit that I purchased. A really “Mindy” shelf. Rustic, weathered wood & iron goodness. I filled the wire baskets with Max’s wash cloths, hooded towels, textural decorations, and my Turbie Twists (seriously).
***Update *** This shelf is not at Hobby Lobby any more but I’m linking similar ones (for around $60) here and here! We partially gutted our bathroom a few months ago and it never really looked finished to me. I needed something for this very naked bathroom wall that I strategically placed a text bubble on.
So this wall was the perfect place for the new shelf.
You can never have enough Turbie Twist storage 😉
Now that it’s nailed into the wall, I’m wondering if I should have ironed the towels before taking this picture it looks too cluttered. What do you think?
Jessica Roth says
No need to iron 😉 just throw them into the dryer!
This looks absolutely perfect! My bathroom is about the same size and I’m trying to figure out storage because really…it’st just. so. hard.
PS-before this post I had no idea what a Hobby Lobby was. We don’t have any here in Oregon (that I’m aware of) so that’s probably a good thing!

Hobby Lobby is on the list of stores that Michelle is not allowed to go into alone. Along with Target and TJMaxx. Oops. Love the shelf!

You should NEVER iron a towel! (or a sheet, underwear, jeans, or anything really, unless you’re going to a work function, or a wedding!) That being said… I love, love, love the shelf/storage! I need to find myself some metal storage! fabulous!!

Where did you get the picture above the toilet? I love the shelf, love the bathroom.
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Thanks Melissa! I got the painting about 5 years ago from Spiegel.com.

Love the bathroom and love the shelf. I have been looking for some thing like that to put in my kitchen to hang coffee cups and hold coffee pods.. just got a Nespresso machine 😉 😉 😉 😉
I had a hobby lobby in Iowa where I used to live.. miss it SO much. But in California its too far. Any suggestions on where I can find something similar? Been looking every where.
thanks
Chris

OMG Nespresso is amazing you lucky duck! I got it for a good price at Hobby Lobby, so I’m not sure if it would be super expensive elsewhere. I’d check TJMaxx or HomeGoods first. I know Pottery Barn Kids and Restoration Hardware has similar items, but they also have the price tags to go along with the fancier name. Good Luck!
