My First Mother’s Day

Last year I was pregnant for Mother’s Day.  I wasn’t sure if that meant it was my first, but I celebrated it by ordering cheesecake stuffed french toast sans guilt at our family brunch.  It. Was. Fan. Tastic.  My morning sickness was finally gone around that time. I got a few cards and a necklace from my mom.  It was a great day.

We had our annual Mother’s Day this year. All of the girls in my family go.  All 13 of us. I took Max this year as my date even though it’s a girls only event.  He knocked over water glasses, snatched scrambled eggs off of my dish and literally grabbed a cookie out of my mouth.  It was definitely my first brunch as a mom! He was fresh, but I smothered him with kisses anyway.

This year’s gift was my all-time favorite.  I’m not talking about the material things I received.  Those were very nice.  I’m not talking about the beautiful cards that were given to me.  Those were great too.

Max has learned a new word and says it loud!

I have to share this with you guys because it was the best Mother’s Day gift ever.

For about 5 full minutes, Max but both of his chubby hands on my face and smiled then mauled me with sloppy, open-mouthed baby kisses!  He was like a mad man.  It was the best ever.  My heart feels so full 🙂
