I don’t get out for “girl’s night” that often. It’s so hard for my friends (most have kids under a year) and I to coordinate schedules. It seriously happens like three times a year. So when I get asked to go for dinner some place other than my own kitchen, if my schedule permits, I run. Saturday night, my friend Lindsey (she has nine month old twins at home) and I went to our favorite spot for some made to order table side guacamole and jalapeno infused margaritas.
Here we are peering into the glass covered scorpion pit table. We’re rebels, what can I say?
Here’s a blurry night time iPhone pic of us being obnoxious after a few ritas. Our eyebrows look weird here. When I see this photo, it makes me feel sorry for anyone within a one mile radius of my loud mouth. Yes, I was that girl. I was also completely okay with it at the time too.
From 2003 – 2011 BC (before child 😛 ) we would meet up at least twice a month for “Margarita Friday”. This would consist of eating our body weight in quesadillas and tacos while washing them down with nachos and strawberry margaritas. I miss the giggly nights out. I really miss being able to consume an army’s worth of Mexican food and alcohol with a 22-year-old metabolism.
We aren’t Mexican by blood, but our taste buds might be. Cinco De Mayo was a pretty big night out for us. While this year we won’t be waking up with a hangover, we will be a bit groggy from late night feedings with el bebe.
FSL’s 2 ingredient pina colada cake was featured on The Mandatory Mooch yesterday. Nichi gathered her favorite Cinci De Mayo themed recipes.
There is a pretty delicious round-up of easy and tasty recipes. Pour yourself a margarita and head on over to check it out! Tell them I sent ya 😉
