I still can’t believe we didn’t find out the gender of our baby to be! Putting together this room was not easy. I did A LOT of researching on Pinterest and Google images for inspiring nursery ideas that weren’t too themed and worked with the decor of the rest of our home. I quickly saw that I was drawn to dreamy white and ivory rooms with antiqued wood and industrial accents. I really want the baby’s room to feel ethereal and invoke a sense of tranquility.
This room is a base. It was looking very masculine until I added the curtains and netting above the crib. If we have a son, navy blues and hunter green accents will adorn the room. If we have a daughter, shades of peach and plum will be incorporated.

This room looks AMAZING! I love it. I’m excited to find out what the accent colors will be. Probably not as excited as you are. I think it’s awesome that you are waiting to find out the gender when you meet your little precious bundle of joy!!! SO exciting and excellent job on the room! ox

Thanks Kelly!! Yes, I’m so anxious to know if it’s a boy or girl! The room will have an entirely different feel to it.

Are you totally freaking out about this baby business now? I keep thinking I’m getting closer to wanting one and then I get panic attacks when I really think about it. 😛
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Thanks!
You sound like me lol! Yes, I am completely freaking out. I know my life will be completely changed forever, I have no clue what to expect, and there is nothing I can do prepare for it. You can say I’m in full blown panic mode.

Hey, love your nursery, especially the furniture, may I ask where you found them, Thanks 😉
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Thank you Sally! I got the furniture at Babies R Us. The company that makes it it called Baby Cache and the style is Montana in the Driftwood finish.

I just found your blog and love your nursery. Would you mind sharing the information in he wire wall basket over the dresser?
Thanks!
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! The wire cubbies we bough at TJ Maxx and is made from a company named “STRUCTURE”. I know they sell these at Restoration Hardware, but it will definitely be pricier there. The one in Max’s nursery was $49.95. Happy hunting!

Thank you!,

This is the nursery set I fell in love with, and because your original post was over 2 years ago I am wondering how the set held up. Did it scratch or fall apart easily or is it a set that can truly last from baby through high school? Also, with many sets they look beautiful online but then in person they look cheap, does this one look just as beautiful in person as it does online? Thanks!
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
I love it! It has held up wonderfully. The color is beautiful. It is now in its toddler bed phase. It is much stronger than I thought it would be. My husband squeezes into the toddler bed every night to put him to sleep.

This post made me so happy! My husband and I are keeping our baby’s gender a secret, and it is so hard to find ideas for a gender neutral room. Thank you so much for this great post!
