How I’m feeling: Pretty good. The gym took a back seat this week. It was my first week back to work and I was exhausted! Unfortunately, this blog has been suffering. My back has been giving me a run for my money too. The shoes I wore to work for the first day of school had about a 1″ heel. Seriously. Smallest heel ever. That evening, I put my feet up and did not see ankles. I fully had cankles. From here on in I will wear flats and my compression pantyhose to work. Here’s what my feet looked like…
Yikes!
New and weird: Braxton Hicks contractions. They don’t hurt, but if it is a taste of what the physical pressure of real contractions will be like, um, let’s just say I’m getting nervous.
Exciting: the baby’s room is really coming along! I can’t wait to show you guys!! I also googled printable free nursery art. I have two printed out that I like and I printed out one customizable picture for our boy name and one for our girl name 🙂
Rings Fitting Fingers: Snugly
Belly Button Status: Almost completely smoothed out!
Cravings: Italian ice, ruffles potato chips, buttery grilled cheese with tomato
Aversions: asparagus (still)
Baby is the size of: a durian fruit
The baby at 33 weeks:
- He or she’s keeping eyes open while awake.
- Baby’s also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.
- The bones are hardening.
- And he or she is going through (more) major brain development — that’s one smart baby!

Oh, the ankles! I have sympathy for you, friends. Screw the heels. Keep those tootsies as comfortable as you can. My ankles are hurting just thinking about it. Also, you are quite possible the most beautiful pregnant woman I’ve ever met.
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
You are so nice Kim! I figured a small heel might be better than completely flat. I was wrong lol!
