How I’m feeling: Really good! Working out regularly (light weights and cardio). Lots of walking, although about 1/4 of the way through my walks, I have to pee 😉 . My hands have been going numb in the night which my doctor explained was fluid retention caused by a combination of salty foods (Wavy Lays my new bad for me craving that I’ve been giving in to) and the heat. My sciatic has been tweaking out too. Not cool. I have also been experiencing a bit of depression and anxiety which I spoke to my doctor about also. She said that it didn’t sound too severe and chalked it up to my raging hormones (I’ll be in my 3rd trimester in about a week!). My blood pressure is really good, weight is on track, and belly is measuring right on schedule.
New and exciting: We have been talking names! We have narrowed it down to two girl names, but we are very stuck with boy names. We like lots of them and can’t decide which one or two that we love. We still have plenty of time to choose.
Weird Stuff: My belly button has popped. I’ve had an innie my whole life. It’s looking weird. Also my “linea negra” the dark line that goes straight down the center of my belly is crooked! It looks like a question mark. My doc says it doesn’t mean anything and our bodies are never perfectly symmetrical. I still think it’s because we didn’t find out the baby’s gender and it doesn’t want us to know lol!
Test: Glucose Tolerance Test. I was dreading this because everyone said how gross it was. It wasn’t as bad as people hyped it up to be. It tastes like flat orange soda. No biggie. I downed it in like 3 seconds.
Cravings: Cheerios sprinkled with cinnamon and with unsweetened vanilla almond milk (my cravings are VERY specific hahah! )Watermelon, cherries, s’mores, wavy lays potato chips.
Aversions: asparagus (still), grilled or dry or plain chicken, cauliflower.
Baby is the size of: a head of lettuce
The baby at 26 weeks:
- His or her eyes are forming, and will soon start to open.
- And the eyelashes are now grown, too.
- Baby’s getting its immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
- Baby’s taking breaths, too. They’re of amniotic fluid, not air, but it’s still good practice.

Hi, I’m Katie. I’m in week 32. I also am craving s’mores and despising chicken. I’ve got gestational diabetes, so no s’mores for me! In my first pregnancy, my dad kept commenting on my size, asking was I certain I didn’t have twins in there. He thinks he’s funny. This time, I think my stepmom has beat that out of him. People haven’t really said any mean things to me, but I don’t get out much with a near 2YO running around.

Congrats on making it this far! I have a new found respect for people with children after only being pregnant this far. People don’t realize that something that they think is funny actually can hurt somebody’s feelings. We’re hormonal as it is, we don’t need help in the getting upset department! Thanks for the shout out! Stop by again soon, it’s so nice to hear from people that are going through it too!

Looking good girl!!! I’m almost 16 weeks. Crazy! Time is flying but I’m starting to finally feel better and can keep food down. I can finally drink water and I want chili all the time! I bought a jar of olives te other day an they are amazing. So funny. I just know my doc is going to tell me to slow down because I’ve been eating so much now haha!! I’ve been feeling a little down just because I feel fat but nothing a little walking can fix…
Happy second almost third trimester 🙂

I felt like a big blob of chub until about week 17 when my belly started to look more round not just thick. Congrats on the fading morning sickness. That was the worst part. I remember how awesome it was to finally be able to eat again. Yum, chilli sounds amazing!! It’s actually pretty healthy for you. High in protein. Thanks so much for your input! I love hearing from fellow preggers 🙂
