How I’m feeling: Great! Working out regularly (light weights and cardio). Lots of walking. According to all of my pregnancy books, my uterus is above my belly button now (ew) so the bump is getting rounder looking by the day! Sciatic nerve pain is almost gone, I’m thinking due to the Preggle Pillow! I have been quite emotionally sensitive lately too. I’m loving feeling all of the baby’s movements 🙂
New and exciting: Besides my BFF Lindsey AKA “Twinsie” that is pregnant with twins, my other 2 best friends in the world announced their pregnancies! All of my closest friends are pregnant right along side of me (totally crazy & unexpected)!!! I cried each time they shared their news with me. Our kids will grow up together just like us. Can you say dream come true?!
Lame Stuff: My compression thigh highs are giving me some serious chafing action where the silicone band is. They are super hot. Underneath my pants I feel like I’m wearing world’s tightest thermals. Did I mention it’s June and hot?! I want to live in shorts and flip flops, not with these suckers. I went for a walk last night and rocked shorts and the granny hose. And posted it on Instagram. I have officially lost my mind lol! Hey, if you can’t laugh at yourself…
Mean things: I should file this under lame stuff, but it’s beyond lame, so it gets its own subheading. People are rude. Everyone seems to comment on the way I look. Everyone. This never happened before. Not cool. Some things people have said this past week: “Wow, you actually have a belly now, finally you’re starting to look like the rest of the world” Rude. I’ve also been starting to hear lots of : “You are starving your baby, you need to eat more” “You are going to hurt the baby if you work out” “Mindy is dieting while she is pregnant” I could go on and on. My doctor told me that exercise is very healthy for both me & the baby and I am not over doing it. I eat healthy whole foods. I did before I was pregnant. My stomach physically can’t handle fried or super sugary foods, plus it’s not good to give to my baby. I indulge when I feel the craving, this means icecream if and when I want it. Please be nice to pregnant people and save your opinions for something else, we are very sensitive. If you don’t want people commenting on your diet, exercise, and looks then don’t comment on theirs. *END RANT*
Cravings: Lots of the same stuff. Tomato sauce, ice cold milk in Cheerios, soft serve vanilla icecream with rainbow sprinkles.
Aversions: asparagus (still), grilled or dry or plain chicken.
The baby at 21 weeks:
- As its digestive system preps for the outside world, it’s manufacturing meconium — the tarry black substance you’ll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
- If it’s a girl, she’s already got a lifetime’s supply of eggs in her womb — about six million of them!

How are all you pregnant mamas out there? What week are you in? Do people say mean things to you? If you are a mom, did this happen when you were larger and hormonal?

Mindy, You look beautiful! I think its absolutely wonderful that you are eating healthy and exercising! its good for you and its good for the baby. Try, I know its hard, to ignore the ignorant people. I wish I was like you when I was pregnant!

You look absolutely perfect! I am just entering week 19 and have started to get the, “oh, you look too small for 19 weeks. Are you sure everything is ok?” comments. I don’t know why it’s getting to me so much, but it is. I was a small person before I got pregnant so of course I still am going to look small. My belly IS growing though and my doctor says everything looks great. Luckily, I have not gotten any comments lately about working out. My grandmother shakes her finger at me, but that is the generation of you can’t do anything while pregnant! I’m laughing right now because I have been going through rainbow sprinkles like crazy. Strawbery shortcake ice cream with rainbow sprinkles 🙂

Okay, now it’s getting weird. I have been eating strawberry shortcake icecream all week! LOL! We’re preggo twinsies!

Dismiss all these dingdongs and their dumb statements. Erase them from your mind. You look beautiful and really are starting to glow. The world is full of insensitive buttholes who don’t think of anybody. Keep doing what you’re doing and enjoy every minute of this wonderful experience!

Thanks for making me laugh!!! After talking with a good friend, I realize that I have to consider who is saying these things. After changing my perspective, I feel much better. And yes, there are some intense ones out there lol!
