Week 18:
;
How Iām feeling: Working out regularly (light weights and cardio). Lots of walking. Sciatic nerve pain is on and off. The bump looks the same as last week. I’ve been rocking leggings, my regular jeans with the Bella Band and my 2 new pairs of low rise maternity jeans from Old Navy. I am swelling from the knees down and have a lovely array of veins sprawled out on the back of my thighs. I look like a road map. I regularly whine about this. My feet and toes have been going numb. When I told my Dr this, she told me that I need to wear compression pantyhose *my jaw hits the floor* . All I think of is that scene in Mrs. Doubtfire where Robin Williams is riding on the bus and his old lady tights start rolling down to expose his furry knee to the bus driver. From what I understand about these tights, they’re extremely uncomfortable and difficult to get on & off. Should make for some interesting situations considering I pee every 3 seconds. On the bright side, it may act like I’m wearing 1/2 body Spanx!
;
New and exciting: Baby is still very active at night. I get excited when I get into bed because I know I’ll feel the little bugger squirming around. It goes crazy about 10 minutes after I eat chocolate or spicy food. I bought the Preggle Pillow and loooove it (see yesterday’s post). My hair is crazy thick lately too!
Weird Stuff: Besides the crazy old lady tights that I’ll be wearing soon, not too much going on except the fact that “the girls” have taken on a new life of their own. They are redonkulous. Like, I have 3 heads. Ew.
Cravings: Lots of the same stuff. Tomato sauce, vinegar, frozen yogurt or sorbet , ice cold milk in Cheerios š
Aversions: asparagus (still), ice water (still), grilled or dry or plain chicken.
Baby is the size of:
- It’s yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing?
- And it’s twisting, rolling, punching and kicking, too

Your lucky you look good still for being 18 weeks, just looks like small bloat weight. I will turn the big 29 at the end of July and i feel this pressure from society “when am i going to have a child” and all my friends expect for 1 has a child, and at times i feel im not moving as fast as the rest of the world. I have to admit i am very scared and i dont want my body to be ruined at least till im 35. So i tell people my goal is to have a child no later than 34, id like to wait like some famous people. My question is did you want to get prego before 30? In the back of my mind i feel 29 is a good age and it always crosses my mind but then i get freaked out! lol

Yes and no. We were actually going to plan to get pregnant this summer. My husband and I are both teachers and wanted to have the baby in March or April so I could take the rest of the school year off for maternity leave and have the whole summer off also. We were stunned when that pee stick said pregnant! I am right there with you. I was kind of hoping for a 30th birthday bash this August that involved pudding shots š I am very scared and it’s extremely hard to see my body changing (some things will go back to normal, and some are just mama battle wounds). I am grateful that I still feel peppy enough that I’m confident I’ll keep up with the baby š I honestly think that nobody is ever really ready. It just happened to us and we are fully embracing the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just look at all these celebrity moms that have kids and they’re still pretty cool 8)
