10. It’s way cooler to be unique than to conform to everyone else. March to the beat of your own drum with no apologies, you will be happier in the end if you are true to yourself.
9. You are responsible for your own success or failure.
8. It’s okay to say no to people.
7. It’s a waste of time being angry with other people’s choices, you can’t control what they do.
6. Never judge a book by its cover. Get to know somebody before you make your mind up about them.
5. Be persistent. Tenacity almost always prevails.
4. Admit when you are wrong. It’s a sign of wisdom. Don’t hold grudges against people you love. Apologize for any hurt feelings, kiss & make up.
3. Live as honestly and honorably as you can. As you get older, you will be thankful!
2. Take pleasures in small everyday routines & turn them into “rituals” (see my morning ritual here).
1. Don’t take tomorrow for granted, you are never guaranteed, and neither is anyone else. Appreciate what you have, today. Worrying about tomorrow is wasted energy.

Is there any advice you wish you could tell your younger self if you could go back in time?
Amen to all of these! I would tell them to appreciate their youth, it goes by way too fast.
Excellent advice, I wish I had known number 10 earlier!
Love this list!
mine… simply stop caring what other people think. UGH! lol DUH!
All good advice. I would add to that- Do what makes YOU happy.
Live your life the way YOU want.
I agree about not taking tomorrow for granted. Such an important key. Everything is great advice though for real.
I too really love rituals!
Really good list. And I think we all wished we knew it when we were kids, but you know we earned it the hard way as adults. And now we own that knowledge. At least that’s what I tell myself….
LOL me too D!
What a great list!! If I could go back in time and give myself advice I would remind myself to be confident and secure with my true self. I had a lot of insecurties with my looks and ability to stand up for myself.
Well, hopefully in 10 years (or sooner) I can say that. Right now I definitely still have some insecurities, but at least I keep it real & admit it that it is a problem I’m working on fixing 😉

You’ll get there. You seem like a strong person 🙂

Yup those are some honest points I like them !!! Today I’ve added another article on my blog also.
Great post and a great reminder!
I very much agree with nr 4 and nr 7. I always try to helo but I realized that you cannot help people who dont want to help themselves. I sued to hold grudges all the time but I outgrew that. Takes too much energy being angry
Beautiful! I’d have told myself…suck it up princess…there’s more to come 😉 hahaha
That one would have helped me through my emotional adolescence, lol!
