Well, it’s official. I am hosting Thanksgiving at the new house. This, Ladies and Gentleman, is a first for me. I’m a little nervous because
1- I’ve never cooked a turkey before
2- I have only 1 rack in my oven for some reason
3- It’s like the Superbowl of food!!!
4- What if it’s a disaster?!
Has anybody ever done this before that has some helpful hints? Ahem…. ANYBODY?!

OK, so this probably won’t be a popular response because for some reason people get worked up over this idea but whatever I don’t care. Have you ever deep fried a turkey? We do a huge Thanksgiving feast every year and we deep fry our turkeys! Honestly, I’ve never had better turkey in my life. You now how turkey can sometimes be dry? When you deep fry a turkey is sears all the juices inside and every bit is a hydrated symphony of L-Tryptophan goodness. hahaha.
Not to mention it’s cooked outside (more room in your kitchen) and cooks in about 30-45 mins time as opposed to.. oh, 7 hours in the oven.
You will need one of these: http://www.bing.com/shopping/3066a-30-quart-outdoor-turkey-fryer-kit/p/E132DCACA198592826AF?q=turkey+deep+fryer&FORM=ENCA2
And you can get injectables for the turkey at any grocery store OR make your own.
People get all in a hissy about it because it can be a fire hazard if the fryer is not set up correctly and not being watched while frying. But we’ve been doing it for about 6 years now and have never had a problem. I realize how LONG this has gotten so if you have any questions feel free to email!
Congrats and good luck!

How fun!! I usually cook my turkey in one of those Reynolds Turkey Oven Bags and it comes out yummy. I just follow the instructions on the box, easy peasy 🙂

Really? I was nervous about those bags, because it cuts the time in half! It sounded too good to be true! I trust you more than I trust the commercials that say its good. I just might give it a whirl. Thanks Nance!
