Dining Room Transformation

You have no idea how HAPPY I am to write this post. I can not wait to show you guys our dining room shelving from Ornamental Moulding! We moved into our current home in May 2018. Like all homes (unless you design it yourself), this house posed a few minor design challenges. One of those was the large wall in our dining area.

Here’s what the space looked like before.

As you can see, that wall was basically blank besides the clock. Our wall looked like this for about two years. I knew I wanted to accentuate the fact that it was pushed in a bit. I saw the design challenge as an opportunity to make the space look custom and unique.

When I decided on installing shelves I knew they would not only look nice, but they’d be functional as well. The shelving options at Ornamental were available at Home Depot and Lowes which is super convenient for us. Here is the exact model we chose. I love the rustic feel of these chunky shelves and the iron detailing matched perfectly with the other iron accents in our home, specifically the chandelier in the dining area where the shelves were going to live.

Installation was super simple and straightforward.

Measure

Find studs and level the cleat for the shelf to be anchored to, then attach the shelf.

Repeat for all shelves! So easy!

Because I love a good before and after side by side…

I can’t be happier with the results. The room is completely transformed into a completely customized space that fits our needs.
