Forgive me in advance if I ramble on about my New York Fashion Week experience from now until forever. But I have to share the details on this hotel with you guys though. Langham Place is a modern NYC luxury hotel to the max and you need to see for yourself.
Where & How Much?
Langham Place is located at 400 5th Ave. It’s the most perfect location in New York, in my opinion. It’s on the same street as every great shop on the planet and within blocks of some my favorite restaurants and bars. It is situated between the Empire State Building and Bryant Park. This photo was taken just outside of the hotel.
I visited the Langham Place this past weekend and it was freezing in the city (hello snow and sleet!), but as I walked up to the door I was already warm and fuzzy about this hotel. There were heat lamps warming the entrance.
Rooms generally range from $530.00 – $1,295 per night. Not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.
Check in
I was greeted with smile after smile, from the gentleman that opened the front door for me, to the receptionist and bellman. All staff knew my name which was a nice personal touch that made me feel even more welcome. The mural behind the front desk was so cool!
Check in was very smooth and quick. I was swiftly upgraded from a superior room (base room) to a family suite. A gentleman took my gianormous suitcase and bag and walked me to my suite.
Before I show you the room, you have to see the common space. The hotel bobby was full of grand scale art, from the mural to the huge sculpture hanging from the top rated Ai Fiori Restaurant that is situated on the floor above. Here are few nigh time pics.
Even the sweeping staircase seemed quite sculptural.
In the lobby, there was an ever-changing treats station. Sometimes it was coffee and pastries, other times it was tea and candy. Love, love love.
The hotel smelled like roses (probably because there were huge cylinders filled with thousands of fresh roses all over the place). At the end of each hallway. That’s a lot of flowers. The hotel accent color is pink, so that worked for me 🙂
The Digs
Our family suite was enormous by any standards (not just for New York City). The family suites range from 780-900 square feet. Huge. It felt like an apartment.
The beds were super comfortable and the linens were luxurious. Each bed was appointed with four fluffy pillows and sleek leather benches at the foot. We were left the most soft, plush bathrobes and slippers to wear which we took full advantage of.
Every evening, Langham provided turn down service which included setting out slippers, dimming the light, bottled waters, chocolate chip cookies and smooth jazz (not kidding!).
The alarm clock in our room did not make any noise. To our surprise, instead of that annoying sound, even our wake up was pleasant. The blackout curtains opened on their own to let in the daylight. Have I mentioned the stunning view of 5th Ave?! That’s a nice sight when you first open your eyes. Floor to ceiling windows make for a nice backdrop.
This vanity was so well lit and had a makeup mirror, like they knew I was staying in the room. Getting ready was so fun in this space!!!
The closet/dressing area gave us so much room for all of our things. Two girls on a fashion week trip does not seem easy to fit all their belongings comfortably, but the Langham did.
The closet space is something a girl could get used to. The bench came in handy when putting on shoes.
Bathroom
The bathroom was very spacious and modern. The glass shower had a rain shower head and a detachable one as well. Check out the soaking tub below! Isn’t it so Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman?! There were ample toiletries to say the least. The Langham left a box full of toothbrushes, toothpaste, powder, sewing kit, you name it, it was in there.
A fun unexpected bonus was a TV in the mirror. This would be super fun to watch a movie while taking a bubble bath wouldn’t it?!
Nice Extras
Every guest at the Langham Place has access to the “house car”. On a first come, first serve basis, the hotel offers free rides to wherever you need to get to in their Jaguar XJL. Here’s April & me heading out to dinner at Vandal.
I highly recommend The Langham Place in New York City to anyone looking for a modern, luxurious place to stay. I felt so pampered there. The staff is extremely accommodating and made my stay feel like a second home.
