Happy Makeup Monday! Today’s post is all about Younique’s cream shadows. This brand is the same one that puts out the Fiber Lash mascara that everyone has been talking about. To read my review on that, click here.
Once I saw what this brand can do for my eyes, I agreed to test and review some of their other products. Angel, one of Younique’s reps sent over samples of mineral pigment powders. Here’s a soft smokey eye achieved with the mineral pigments:
They are super blendable which is exactly what you want out of a product when you are trying to create a smokey eye.
I tested two cream shadows from Younique’s “splurge” cream shadow collection. One was called Elegant which looks like a shimmery champagne color (win this by entering below!) The shimmer isn’t old lady-ish or 80’s at all (which is why I tend to steer clear of shimmer products). Rather it is more of a velvety texture. The sample size was a bit small for application on my eyes, so I tried it over my lipstick and dabbed it in the inner corners of my eyes and instantly fell in love with this color! Using this product over my lipstick gave my lips the dimension of a sheer shimmery gloss without the slick stickiness.
Angel sent a full size pot of their cream shadow in “Danity” which was a silvery purple. It looks gorgeous in the pot and I love the name because it reminds me of the group Danity Kane. My girls and I would faithfully play their songs on our nights out dancing.
Again I wasn’t so sure about this color for my skin tone. I usually go for the neutrals. But I actually like the way the color could make dark eyes pop.
The best part about this line of cream shadows is the texture and lasting power. It goes on so smoothly and never creases. I don’t ever wear cream shadow because my lids tend to get oily as the day goes on and I don’t have time to touch up. This product surpasses my expectations.
One lucky reader will be randomly chosen to win a full size cream shadow in the color “Elegant” which was the super-versatile taupey-champagne color below.
Enter below and check back on the blog next Monday to see if you won!

Ah! Love this post. I keep hearing a lot of good things about this brand. How do you apply your cream shadow? I’ve never tried because my friends all use their fingers to apply and I’m just not that precise. Any suggestions?

I was hesitant too because fingertips are not accurate at all. I used an eye shadow brush and it worked like a charm!
