Guys, Spring is finally here! I’ve been going for walks with Max. Along the way he points to everything he finds interesting, which means he points a lot. “Whassat mama?”
Max was completely amazed when he saw this tree on out street. No lie, we stood in front of it for 10 minutes. He kept gasping and touching the flowers on it.
Nothing says Spring like flowers. I am crushing on all things floral lately. I bought floral leggings, made a few flower brooches (click here to see how to make your own), and yesterday I whipped up a flower crown. And I am a woman obsessed.
Here’s how to make your own…
Supplies:
- Silk flowers
- Floral wire or basket weaving material long enough to fit around your head
- Floral tape or any strong tape
- Scissors or wire cutters
First, I taped together three pieces of basket material.
Then I braided them, taping the ends secure.
Next, tape them into a ring. Snip flowers leaving a stem about an inch long. Slip the stem into the braided loop. Tape it secure.
Be sure the flowers are laying in the same direction.
To cover up the tape, I stuck on leaves. If I used floral tape I’d probably skip this part. But I took the ghetto route and used black duct tape. I bet gold duct tape would be pretty.
You can make a full crown and add ribbon or make a half-crown like I did.
This would be perfect for an outdoor concert or to make for a flower girl in a wedding. Pin it, or send it to somebody that needs a dose of happy Spring-y goodness!
Here are a few other flower D-I-Y’s that may interest you.
