Waffle fries. Where do I begin?! These are seriously no joke. Lucky for me, I know my own weaknesses. I know the powers that waffle fries, bacon, chives, and some BBQ sauce possess. I am fortunate enough to know that I will inhale these without batting an eyelash. I had enough sense to make this batch a low-fat version of the original evilness.
These are a super easy, weeknight crowd pleaser. They will also be making an appearance for Sunday’s football game viewing at casa FSL.
Brace yourself.
1st up, turkey bacon! I’m noticing that almost everything exciting starts with bacon 🙂
Line pan with frozen waffle fries & bake for about 15 minutes.
Add some cheese, bacon, & chives.
Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce, kick back and enjoy the big game!
Ingredients:
1 bag of frozen waffle cut french fries
1/2 bag of shredded cheese (I used a 4 cheese blend)
a healthy sprinkle of chives
4-5 slices of turkey bacon
BBQ sauce for dipping
Low fat or fat free sour cream for dipping
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 400 F.
Cook turkey bacon then cut it into tiny pieces.
Put the frozen waffle fries on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven.
Add most of the shredded cheese on top of the fries.
Top with bacon pieces and sprinkle with cut chives.
Add the rest of the shredded cheese on top.
Put back into the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve with BBQ sauce and sour cream!

We used to make something like this. I kind of forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder. 😛
