Don’t hate me.
I know it’s bikini season.
I made these for a very pregnant friend’s baby shower. She’s having twins. She liked the idea of these, I wasn’t about to argue. Plus, they were so cute & delicious. You can make them whatever color you’d like to match a specific theme or just because.
I used:
* chocolate melts
* lollipop sticks
* double stuf oreos
* sprinkle (for a garnish)
* ribbons (to be fancypants)
I used 1 bag of candy melts to cover about 1 box of oreos. If you want to get snazzy, grab another bag of chocolates in a contrasting color to drizzle.
Tips:
I found that an assembly line method works best with these pops.
I broke out with a few trays and covered them in plastic wrap or tinfoil.
Clear out space in your refrigerator for a few trays. It will speed up drying time and make everything move quicker.
Use disposable bowls. Chocolate is not fun or easy to clean up. Double boilers are overrated.
Use the microwave to melt the chocolates. I popped them in for about 3o seconds on medium heat setting, stirred, then kept heating in 10 second intervals stirring in between until very smooth.
Carefully twist open the oreos and set the cream sides on a tray eat all of the casualties.
Stack the chocolate cookie tops nearby.
Melt a small amount (about 1/4 cup of chocolate melts) in the microwave. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the chocolate.
Gently press it into the cream. I found that a twisting motion worked best to avoid cracking. Don’t skip this step. The melted chocolate hold the stick in the cookie. When you dip the whole oreo, the stick will come out if you don’t dip it in chocolate first.
Grab a cookie top and put the oreo back together.
Set these aside to cool or pop them into the fridge for about 5 minutes while you melt the chocolate you want to dunk them in.
When the chocolate is nice and melty, dunk the oreo in. Be sure it’s completely covered. I used a butter knife to smooth out the melted chocolate and take off any excess.
If you choose to add sprinkles, you need to put them on while the chocolate is still wet. Yes. Chocolate will get under your fingernails. Yes. It looks gross. It will wash out with warm water. If you are drizzling a different color chocolate, let them cool first.
Put these into the fridge to cool completely. If you are drizzling, melt the drizzle chocolate in a ziplock bag. When it’s melted enough, snip a VERY small corner off of the bottom of the bag.
When you’re finished, cool completely. If you want to, dress them up with cute bags to give as favors, or add bows for a nice tray presentation.

These are too cute! I love that they are on a stick. And since Oreos were also my pregnancy food of choice, I’d have devoured these puppies. Still would.

These look fantastic! I found that when I tried to pull apart the oreos a lot of them broke so instead I threw the whole oreos in the microwave for 30 seconds, put the sticks in the melted centre and then put them on a tray into the freezer. They were ready to dunk in 10 minutes!

Smart! I bought an extra pack of oreos just in case. I had my niece on hand to help me gobble up the cookie casualties 😉

How do you get the oreo creme to not melt?
Mindy@FindingSilverLinings says
You’re not heating anything but the chocolate an even that doesn’t get too hot.
